The desk behind our own newsroom is now a product

Everything in this newsroom came out of a practice we built for ourselves: one named article in, one sourced answer out, the original kept beside it. That practice is now a product — PrivateWire, an operated editorial desk for one named beat of your industry. It is available now, and ATAILA operates it with you.

What it does

PrivateWire watches one named beat of your industry and queues every story worth answering with its dated source. Your answer is drafted from your own file — your positions, your prior work, the things you actually think — and nothing publishes until a named person signs it. The original article is kept beside the answer, hashed and dated, so "we said this, in answer to that, on that date" stays checkable years later.

And it keeps the part nobody else keeps: a dated, reasoned record of the stories you chose not to answer. Which stories you decline is your positioning just as much as the ones you take.

This newsroom is the demonstration. Every response on it names its source and links it. Every source has an archive page in both languages, with the capture time and hashes public and one artefact you can download and verify yourself. Open any article, then open its archive page, and check a hash.

How it runs today, said plainly

Our own newsroom is the only PrivateWire installation. We would run the desk with you — the wire, the drafts, the archive — and your named person would sign. The desk you log into yourself is on the roadmap. You would be our first customer, with a first customer's advantages and a first customer's risks.

We also built this newsroom with public models where the data allowed, and we have said so in print. The product exists precisely so you can make the opposite choice for your own file.
